What do you like about your position?
I’ve been the Office Manager for Major Crimes/Historical Case Units for almost seven years now. I absolutely love my job, the team, and the work that I do every day. I support around 20 officers between the two units, so to say ‘it’s busy’ is an understatement. The officers treat me like one of the team and that means the world to me. They all know that if they need anything, I will do my best to get it done for them.
What do you like about working with the RCMP?
Everything. I feel a sense of pride when I tell someone where I work and what I do. To be honest, this is the longest I have ever worked for one employer. I have done a few acting/assignments in my seven years, and my heart always leads me back to the MCU. I have seen many people come and go within our unit and each person holds a special place in my heart.
I am particularly proud of one project that I worked on in Major Crimes. I was tasked with compiling data from the last six years from our office. It was a daunting task to complete, but when it was done, I felt a huge sense of accomplishment and received praise from my supervisor. Some of the data that I had compiled then appeared on the news, so that was very cool.
