Why is your job important?

Every day is different. I’m responsible for processing many different types of files within the Firearms Program: everything from non-resident temporary borrowing licenses, to applications for minors, to court orders. We do a lot. In Data, we enter all license applications, look for errors, send out notices, and make outbound phone calls to obtain missing information. Our team is incredibly knowledgeable.

What do you like about your job?

I love my job. I take a lot of pride in my work, I’m very thorough, and I maintain an excellent quality rating. I also enjoy being asked questions and providing guidance. I’m often the staff member that new agents sit with to learn from. I love being around people and getting to talk to different people every day.

I left the Firearms Program for a little bit to try something new, but I was able to come back after 10 years. Many of my previously developed skills still applied, so I was able to hit the ground running. I have no intention of leaving again—this is the spot for me.
