What is a Promotions Specialist?

I administer the non-commissioned officer (NCO) promotional process. This includes the rank of Corporal, all the way up to the ranks before commissioned officers.

Why is your job important?

The work I complete in my role helps ensure that the correct level of skill is present where it’s required. I do this by administering a very specific and detail-oriented process bound by policy and official language requirements.

What do you find rewarding in your position?

The promotional process is challenging, and a lot of work goes into applying to each promotion. Every time I see a promotional process at its end where the successful candidate is notified, I feel good knowing that I played a part in this. It’s always a very rewarding feeling seeing people move up in their careers.
