What do you like about your job?

I fix problems. I fix clerical errors in firearms licenses, like incorrect date of birth or eye colour, or changes like name or gender. We also do background checks and respond to applicants with a two-way, verified online communications platform. We’re always working on a lot of different things.

What do you like about working for the RCMP?

I love the RCMP. I graduated from criminal justice, so I always wanted to work in the justice system. I did my practicum with an RCMP detachment and it was probably the best time in my life. They have a certain standard and you have to make sure you live up to that standard.

“There’s a lot of stuff that we do, which doesn’t seem like that much until you start naming it all off.”
