We’re very victim-forward here at our centre. So a lot of times we’re looking at where is the most damage being done.
00:00:14:04
What areas of Canada are being targeted?
00:00:16:16

It was nice when you would come across a prize scam letter, let’s say, and there’s a phone number on there and you get word back from the phone company that they shut it down.
00:00:32:04
We actually don’t know the impact, because there could have been a thousand letters sent out to Canadians across the country.
00:00:37:18
And because we shut that one number down, we’ve now prevented possibly a thousand victims from sending money to this company claiming that you’ve won a lottery in Spain.

You want to stop fraud you have to educate the public. So when we have people in corners of the country that have not heard of us, they don’t recognize and that’s our logo: recognize, reject, report. That’s the key: recognize. If you can see the scam coming, you’re not gonna fall for it.

I truly believe and I believe in the Canadian Fraud Center. I’m loyal to a fault, I think.
00:01:08:28
I have a great sense of pride when it comes to the CFC.
